Apply for CBE Certification
The Department of Small and Local Business Development serves as the administrative arm and liaison for the Small and Local Business Opportunity Commission (SLBOC). The Department receives, analyzes, and processes Certified Business Enterprises (CBEs) Certification applications on a continuous basis.
CBE applications are processed, and summary reports are presented to SLBOC for certification review. The SLBOC meets monthly and applicants are notified in writing within 30 days of their decision.
The CBE program is recommended for businesses that can demonstrate a capacity to provide goods and services to the District government; they should refer to the User Guide for Certification to apply. Applicants are advised to follow the User Guide to improve the quality of their applications and to minimize delays in processing time.
